28 Weeks 3 Days

This morning we had our ultrasound!  Sarah's position was quite stubborn for getting good pictures to post for you but we tried our best.  Yesterday, as I mentioned in the last post, was her most active day ever so today she has been sleeping...a lot!  She was head down, facing my back and not wanting to move.  One of her arms was wrapped up around her head and as the technician pressed the ultrasound probe on my belling Sarah would  give a little nudge with her head to say "Cut it out, I'm trying to sleep in here!"  It was pretty funny to see her do that.

Her heart rate looked good and normal.  We got some measurements of her thigh, abdomen and head to get a good determination of how well she is growing.  Today I am 28 weeks and 3 days along in my pregnancy but Sarah's measurements put her 30 weeks!  All the books say that at this stage she should weigh around 2 lbs 4 ounces, but based off of her measurements she is 2 lbs 15 ounces...an ounce shy of 3 pounds!  The technician said that my OB doctor is the only one that can "change" my due date but from these calculations the computer gave me a new due date of May 10th!  Now this is only based off of Sarah's gestational development and considering we are a fertility patient the window of conception is VERY small leaving  the official due date  of May 18th to be pretty precise by 12 hours.

I have a follow up appointment with my OB doctor this Friday and should be getting the results of how Sarah's left kidney is developing.  Please continue to pray that it is within the normal range and that there will be no problems down the road.

Ok, so here is the fun part!  I have posted the picture sideways so you can identify what your looking at better.

Looking straight at the picture her arm extends from her elbow to her fingers along the side of her head.  The arm is on the left side of the picture and her head is on the right side of the picture.  If you think you can make out an eye, nose, cheek and chin...you got it!  The round blob at the bottom of the picture is part of her abdomen.  Click on the picture to get a bigger view.

Toes...what are those again???

Ok so I admit I have not done my part on keeping y'all updated with current pictures and the latest developments.  We have been extremely busy getting moved into our new house.

Here is a picture we took as we were running out the door to do errands on Saturday.  Today by far has been Sarah's most active day.  She has kicked and jabbed me in every direction and I absolutely love it!

So this week marks 28 weeks and my belly button is almost nonexistent.  I couldn't tell you what color my toenails are painted unless I pull them up to elevate them, and if I don't they turn into pudgy little vienna sausages!

Tomorrow is our ultrasound!  We can't wait to see our daughter again!!  If we get prints of the U/S I will post them ASAP!

Hello Third Trimester!

That's right!  Friday marks the beginning of the third trimester!  I have to apologize to all of you out there that keep looking at the blog for updates and there hasn't been any for a few weeks.  Tim and I have been extremely busy moving into our new home.  Tim checked into his new command at Naval Station Mayport the first week in February and has been busy, busy busy with that ever since.

I was able to get things set up at the Naval Hospital and be seen by my new OB doctor last week.  We have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday (Feb. 27th) and a follow-up appointment with my OB doctor Friday (March 2nd).  After these appointments I should be able to give you a full detailed update and hopefully some pictures of our beautiful daughter.

With as active as I have been setting up the house I don't necessarily feel Sarah's movements until the end of the day or in the morning when I am sitting down or trying to sleep.  I absolutely love feeling her kicks, hits and jabs to the bladder...especially at 4:30 AM!  There is something special about feeling life growing inside of you.  Tim always refers back to the dancing alien from Space Balls that jumps out of a man and starts singing and dancing on the diner counter.  He is such a goof ball.  But seriously we have been so blessed by God this year and continue to give Him all the glory in making this miracle, this dream come true for our family.
